My paternal Great Grandfather was Ward Nicholson, who arrived in Geelong, Victoria, Australia in the 1850s. He came from Newcastle-on-Tyne with his wife. He was the engineering brains in the Geelong foundary known as The Vulcan Foundary, Humble’s Foundary and Humble and Nicholson Foundary. The site is now occupied by a large office complex owned by the Bendigo Bank. This plaque gives a brief summary of ownership and activities.
My maternal Chinese Grandfather, Harry Louey Jack, one of the founders of the Bendigo Chinese Association, who was was the father of Russell Jack (my Uncle), who instigated the creation of the Golden Dragon Museum, Bendigo, VIctoria, Australia
